A Prescription for Success

“It was because you, the Levites, did not bring it up the first time that the Lord our God broke out in anger against us. We did not inquire of Him about how to do it in the prescribed way.”

(1 Chronicles 15:13)

Yes, I’m that guy who, when I get an assembly required item, dives right into it with no or minimal attention to the instructions.  I can’t guess how many times I ‘completed’ the assembly only to realize I left a part out or forgot a step and had to disassemble part of it.  While my eagerness for the challenge of self assembly might not be life altering, we learn some vital lessons from king David that were.

First Chronicles chapters 13-15 share a series of events during David’s early reign as King that we can glean great insight and wisdom from.   In chapter 13, we learn of the failed attempt to bring the Ark of the Covenant back to Jerusalem, ending with David described as being ‘afraid of God’(v12).

Then almost out of context, chapter 14 switches to recapping a couple of David’s battles with the Philistines.   These turned into great learning lessons for David on following precise instructions.  In both cases, David inquired of the Lord whether to go fight, but the response was different in each case.  In the first case, the Lord told him “Go, I will deliver them into your hands” (v10).  Then in the subsequent battle with a similar inquiry, God’s response was: “Do not go directly after them, but circle around them and attack them in front of the poplar trees.  As soon as you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the poplar trees, move out to battle, because that will mean God has gone out in front of you to strike the Philistine army.” (v14-15).    Some very explicit instructions were given to David in order to secure the victory the second time.  Lesson learned.

In chapter 15, when David was planning how to bring the Ark to Jerusalem for the second time, is when the scripture above is given.  David acknowledges the first failure of the Ark’s return  was because We did not inquire of Him about how to do it in the prescribed way.”

David had learned that he needed to not only listen and ask God for guidance on whether to ‘go' or ‘not go’, but to seek His guidance for the prescribed way to go about doing things.

What a powerful life lesson for us as we approach our life and business directions and decisions.

God through His Holy Spirit can give specific guidance, or a prescription, on how to go about a plan or task, in order to succeed. We just need to ask, listen and follow through on His prescribed way, not ours.

Story of Challenge and Hope

Bonny's Journey of Divine Assignment

A Testament to Perseverance in God's Calling

From his first encounters with Christ as a child in India, scaling a globally known media business, to facing his hardest challenges in life, today we’re honored to share a story about our friend Bonny.

At an early age, Bonny experienced his mother being healed of terminal cancer and surrendering her life to God.

This also led to Bonny giving his life to the Lord soon after at a revival; and after experiencing the transformation of his wife and son, Bonny’s father shortly followed in giving his life to God.

As Bonny grew and eventually entered college, he received a word from God that he would be in the business of changing people, and the word resonated with him on a spiritual level.

He launched a Christian media business with a heart to impact souls for the Kingdom. What started as a leap of faith grew into a ministry that would eventually touch hundreds of thousands of lives.

Life was on an upwards trajectory for Bonny - he soon found himself in a season of success managing a large business, employees, and financially was blessed as well.

“The size of your dreams is directly proportional to your revelation of God in your life.” Bonny Andrews

The Greater Assignment: America Calls

God's plans for Bonny were far from complete. Bonny felt a stirring of divine assignment, one that would soon reveal itself to be his biggest yet: pack up his family and media business and relocate to New York City.

The mission was clear—bring God's word through music to one of the places that desperately needed it: college campuses across America.

Faith Tested by Fire

Two months after the monumental move to New York, COVID emerged and the lockdowns began, leaving Bonny and his family stranded in a foreign place with dwindling resources.

With his family's future hanging in the balance and their finances nearly depleted, Bonny chose to trust rather than fear.

Just when it seemed like all hope was lost — mere days away from complete financial ruin, not to mention having a baby on the way — God moved in a way that could only be described as miraculous.

God inspired Bonny to produce the now famous ‘New York Blessing’ video which took off, and opened doors he never could have imagined.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

Proverbs 3:5-6

Solomon's Lesson: Trust in the Lord's Timing

King Solomon, in all his wisdom, understood a fundamental truth about God's direction as he stated in Proverbs 3:5-6. Bonny's journey perfectly illustrates this timeless principle.

Like many of God's greatest servants throughout history, Bonny discovered that divine assignments rarely unfold according to our human timeline or comfort level.

His story reminds us that God's love remains constant even when His plans seem unclear, and His faithfulness endures even when we temporarily lose our way.

As Christian entrepreneurs, we can take comfort in knowing that our seeming setbacks are often setups for His greater glory, and our willingness to trust Him in the valley positions us for victory on the mountaintop.

Bonny is actively involved in Campus Harvest and other evangelism initiatives to reach and disciple students on college campuses globally, including this exciting mobilization event, August, 8-9 in RTP, NC:

Tech Update

Powering AI - Small Module Reactors

I recently got my $300 home electric bill for the month and had a momentary gasp.  Then realizing how hot it was in June and our high air conditioning (AC) usage, I reluctantly sighed.

While powering AC is an energy drain, it pales in comparison to that of powering AI data centers.  Consider that a single large AI data center consumes around 30 megawatt (MW), which is comparable to the continuous electricity use of a mid-sized city of around 30-50K residents!

Cost efficient energy supply is crucial for economic development as it has been for centuries. The creation of cheap and reliable power is a precious commodity.

For too long, nuclear power was looked down upon as risky, but is now regaining momentum due to high reliability, clean output, and cost efficient options to meet the growing energy demand.  Most importantly, it provides a highly efficient means of delivering high capacity power at a relatively low cost per MW.

Enter small module nuclear (SMR).

Instead of a massive nuclear power plant that takes years and billions of dollars to build, SMRs are on the horizon to deliver a micro-nuclear power plant at a fraction of the cost, and in most cases, in a portable format. This opens up a tremendous opportunity to create clean energy for powering AI and more.   A SMR typically outputs between 1-300 MW, and can also be clustered if needed.

Portability is a huge benefit.  For example, NANO nuclear energy’s microreactors conceptually can be attached to a tractor trailer for deployment to locations that are hard to reach.

“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:6

This all sounded like science fiction to the general public, but in the last few months has gained critical recognition due to President Trump’s plans for reform nuclear regulation as announced in May 2025.   Shortly afterwards, one of the industry leaders in this space, Nuscale Power, announced it received regulatory approval for one of its SMR designs.  Then just last week the Department of Energy announced plans to have three SMRs running by July 2026.

Biblical Thoughts:

So what does the Bible say about power?

The most notable scripture I recall is, Philippians 4:6, “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”  While this does not specifically state ‘power’, I do consider energy as something we all need.  Why shouldn’t we?   God created the heavens and the earth and everything therein.

I also find it interesting that when Peter describes the end of the age and the restoration of the new earth, he says: “That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat.” (2 Peter 3:12).   Nuclear energy is created by the splitting of atoms under a controlled environment at a very micro scale.   Just imagine how much nuclear energy will be unleashed when the ‘day of the Lord’ occurs!

Financial Update

The GENIUS Act:

President Trump recently signed the GENIUS Act into law, marking the first major piece of crypto legislation passed by Congress.

This landmark bill, officially called the "Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for U.S. Stablecoins of 2025”, represents a pivotal moment in American financial regulation and signals a new era of clarity for digital assets.

Stablecoins

While assets in the cryptocurrency sector always fluctuate in price 24/7, stablecoins do not. Their value stays at $1, and it is backed (or pegged to) by an underlying asset that’s equal in value.

Their stable price makes them a great candidate for sending payments and everyday transactions since market volatility usually does not affect their price.

Key Provisions of the GENIUS Act

The House approved the GENIUS Act Bill with a 308-122 vote with significant Democratic support, adopting regulations for a type of cryptocurrency known as stablecoins. The Act establishes several critical frameworks:

The Act restricts the SEC, federal banking agencies, and the National Credit Union Administration from classifying payment stablecoins as securities, ensuring that stablecoins are treated as payments instruments rather than investment products. This distinction provides much-needed regulatory clarity for businesses and investors.

The Act includes anti-money laundering (AML) and sanctions compliance provisions that require foreign issuers to meet AML and sanctions compliance requirements before issuing payment stablecoins to holders in the United States. Additionally, the Senate's GENIUS Act would permit only those stablecoin issuers with total market capitalization of less than $10 billion to opt for regulation under a state-level regulatory regime.

The GENIUS Act would amend existing insolvency laws by establishing that a person holding payment stablecoins issued by an insolvent stablecoin issuer would have priority over all other claims against the issuer, providing important consumer protections.

Implementation and Future Impact

The Act prohibits issuing payment stablecoins, but that prohibition will not take effect until the "effective date" of the Act, which is estimated to be in November 2026. This transition period allows regulatory agencies and industry participants to prepare for compliance with the new framework.

Solomon's Wisdom for the Digital Age

Just as Solomon recognized that "the plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty" (Proverbs 21:5), this legislation rewards careful preparation and compliance while discouraging reckless speculation.

For Christian business leaders, the GENIUS Act represents an opportunity to engage with emerging financial technologies while maintaining integrity and transparency. As stewards of God's resources, we're called to be both wise as serpents and innocent as doves (Matthew 10:16).

This new regulatory framework allows us to explore innovative financial tools while operating within clear biblical boundaries of honesty, accountability, and responsible stewardship.

The Lord blesses those who conduct business with integrity, and the GENIUS Act provides the regulatory foundation for such righteous commerce in the digital age.
