Gift Jesus

What is the best Christmas gift you ever received as a child?  I have vivid memories of my figure 8 race car set that kept me playing and competing all Christmas day, and for weeks after.  But like all material gifts, it faded over time as the novelty wore out.

God gave us the greatest gift of His son, Jesus, which started the whole tradition of giving Christmas gifts. 

Most of us know this but imagine if we actually accepted Jesus on Christmas day.  It would be quite memorable.  I recall the classic Christmas movie “It's a Wonderful Life”.  In it, down and out family and business man George Bailey gets saved by an angelic intervention, when contemplating taking his life on Christmas eve.  Now that was a Christmas salvation moment to remember.

Since we have been saved by grace through the gift of Jesus, shouldn’t we all desire to ‘gift Jesus’ to others this Christmas?  It would be the one gift that would last forever, never fade, and bring joy each day!

As you meet with lost relatives and friends over the Christmas holidays, take the time to unwrap the present of Jesus for them.   Share how He has blessed you this past year.  How He provided for your needs.  How He guided you and inspired you.   Share the love, peace and fulfillment you have in following Christ.   Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you into sharing Truth and Life - the gift of Jesus!   I can guarantee that if received they will have a Christmas to remember forever, just like George Bailey.

It starts by gifting Jesus.
