Only Two

“Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.” (‭‭Matthew‬ ‭18‬:‭19‬ )‬‬

Let’s break this verse down to learn some powerful truth:

Only Two

Jesus promises that only two are needed to agree about anything they ask for and it will be done by God.  Not your whole church, not all your friends on social media, and not even your life group.  Only two!  Who is your agreement prayer partner?  For me it's my wife. If you are married, I believe it should be your spouse, as God ‘yoked’ you to accomplish His divine purpose.  If you are single, find a prayer partner of the same sex that you can meet with and pray to move heaven and earth.

Must Agree

A while back I partook in a heart-breaking prayer meeting where a group of men gathered to pray for a brother diagnosed with cancer.  We had an amazing prayer time.  However, immediately afterwards, many started talking about ‘what the doctor said’ and ‘hoping’ it goes well for him.  My spirit was crushed.  I felt like our prayers were in vain.  Where was the agreement?  Don't pray for something if you won’t trust God to answer your prayer.  You must agree in prayer.  

“Therefore, confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” ‭‭(James‬ ‭5‬:‭16)‬

P.S.  I befriended that brother and I’m happy to report that the Lord healed him, as I now see him playing pickleball on occasion :-)

Ask Anything

I can ask anything, really? Another translation of ‘anything’ in this verse is translated as: “concerning any matter, whatsoever it may be”. ‭‭(Matthew‬ ‭18‬:‭19)‬ 

That's right, ‘any matter’.  Jesus is calling us to boldly come before God concerning anything.  He also said: “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” ‭‭(Matthew‬ ‭7‬:‭7‬)‬‬

We are called to boldly come to God to ask. Let's take Him up on this.

Will be Done

This statement isn’t, ‘it might be done’, or ‘your prayer request will be considered’.  It's definitive. Jesus reminded us daily to ask God that ‘His will be done on earth as it is in heaven’. Take your authority as a child of God, ask and believe that it will be done.

Financial Update

Crypto Turbulence

The past month has been turbulent for the cryptocurrency sector.

In this short time frame, we’ve witnessed Bitcoin (BTC), the leading cryptocurrency, experience a near 40% decline in price, going from close to $100k to $60k.

While the volatile nature of these assets is nothing new to investors, the condensed timeframe in which it happened in, does warrant some attention.

Within the sector, there’s been an ongoing narrative of “the drop happened for no reason.” However, a deeper dive into the price action, reveals a different story.

Earlier in its "infancy" stage, BTC and the cryptocurrency market in general, was said to be an independent moving asset; not having a direct movement correlation to any other asset.

Over the past few years however, that narrative changed as they became closely pegged to the traditional stock market. 

This leads us into our first observance, where we’ve been witnessing a slowdown, and in some days, pullbacks in the Nasdaq, S&P500 and Dow Jones.

With some days seeing a 1.6% and 1.2% intraday loss overall, which by comparison to the cryptocurrency pullback, isn’t significant, it does tell a story where the digital asset sector seems to only mirror but overly magnify and exaggerate moves from the traditional markets. 

When it comes to investing, it’s always wise to maintain a “what if” scenario in both directions, both bullish and bearish (although most of us never want to entertain that part).

While the prices of crypto assets have somewhat stabilized since the recent drop, it would still be wise to ask yourself “what “if” the traditional markets fell by more than 2%, what if a 10%, or even 15% retracement occurred? What would that mean for Crypto?

Another point to mention is the DXY (the primary indicator of the dollar's value against major international currencies) recent price movement slightly upwards.

The better the dollar does, the poorer other risk on assets, like cryptocurrencies perform. The past few weeks, it seems like the DXY has been finding support and having short movements up.

It’s at an inflection point; where it’s currently positioned, it seems poised for a volatile move either upwards or downwards - signaling an inverse reaction for crypto.

There are other indicators we find that directly correlate with the price of crypto along with precious metals, which we will continue to cover in the future, but for now, these are two primary and somewhat simple metrics to track.

Climate Change Facts

Fact:  The earth’s average temperature has been about the same for the last 6000 years

Over the last 6,000 years, the earth’s global average temperature has fluctuated within a relatively narrow band, with swings of roughly ±0.5–1.0 °C.  The warmest phase, the mid‑Holocene “climatic optimum” about 6,000–8,000 years ago, was about 0.5–0.7 °C warmer than the late‑19th‑century pre‑industrial baseline.

Fact: China’s CO₂ pollution has grown over 40% in the last decade

In the last decade, China and India’s CO₂ emissions have increased between 40-50%. During the same period of time, the United States has reduced its carbon emissions by about 5%. China alone is the largest global polluter, generating ⅓ of all global CO₂ emissions, and about 3x more than the US. This is alarming considering the west has put so much effort and funding into reducing greenhouse gas emissions, while the worst polluters do little. This was certainly a consideration for why President Trump recently pulled the United States from the Paris Climate Agreement.

Fact: Climate alarmist prophecies have failed time and time again

In the documentary, An Inconvenient Truth (2006) by Al Gore, it was hyped that within a decade there will be no more snow on Kilimanjaro.  Africa’s iconic mountain still remains snowcapped 20 years later as the recent picture above shows.  Another climate doom prediction was that large coastal areas would submerge due to rising sea‑level. In reality, global sea level rises only about 3–4 mm per year.

Fact:  God designed the earth to exist until Jesus’ return and then some

“The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it”. (Psalm 24:1)

God created the earth to sustain all mankind until Jesus returns in the second coming. Jesus will then usher in a 1000-year millennial reign on the earth. The earth is not going away anytime soon, after which time, we are told in Revelation that a new earth will be unveiled: 

“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.” (Revelation 21:1)

The bottom line is there is no need to panic that humans are going to destroy the earth and usher in the apocalypse. The end times will happen in God’s timing, not men’s. In the meantime, let’s be good stewards of our planet and go out and bring in the harvest!
