Truth About Judging

I had a dream last night that I came through the backdoor of what was a church but appeared more like a museum. There were displays honoring secular trans ideology and attendants that seemed comfortable to idolize them. I felt intimidated to speak up against what was clearly an abomination to the Lord and sought to leave quietly.

This morning, my Bible reading was 1 Corinthians Chapter 5 which has a stern lesson for Christ followers, which I encourage you all to read. Paul rebukes the Corinthian church for tolerating immoral behavior inside the church and teaches we are to ‘judge’ those inside the church but not outside.

What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked person from among you.”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭12‬-‭13‬

I’m seeing a lot of parallels to my dream as a lesson to me and all of us. We must be vigilant in adhering to God’s standard for holiness which includes righteously ‘judging’ those professing to follow Jesus.

Tolerance has caused many so called churches to abandon the Word of God in favor of pleasing money giving false sheep. I was also reminded of the scripture informing us that Jesus is coming back for a ‘holy’ and ‘blameless’ church:

“For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.”

Ephesians 1:4

“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.”

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭5‬:‭25‬-‭27‬

Most of us are not pastors who have a bigger role in following this lesson, but we all have Christian family and friends. Remember you are the church and Christ followers that surround you are the ones you are called to influence and judge towards righteous living.

I hope this devotion awakens and inspires you to action as it has me. Live for Jesus above all else.

What Holding a Grudge Actually Does to Your Body

Think of someone you still haven’t forgiven. What happens inside your body when you remember what they did?

Research suggests that even briefly recalling an angry memory can temporarily affect how your arteries function. Other studies have found surprising connections between resentment, blood pressure, and the heart.

In this YouTube video (13min), The Upgrade with Makai Elías Calles, he explores the science of resentment, why common ways of dealing with anger can backfire, and what researchers are discovering about the potential health benefits of forgiveness.

There is another way to help with letting go of resentment, anger, bitterness and unforgiveness, it’s to seek Jesus and ask Him to help us with these difficult strongholds. When we surrender ALL to Him, He makes a way. There’s a release, and a peace that comes over you when you give it all to Him. Jesus says:

“Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Matthew 11:28

This means all resentment, anger and unforgiveness will melt away.

“But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”

Matthew 6:15

He is the Way, the Truth and the Life; and He has a plan for you.

“In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry,”

Ephesians 4:26

LET GO AND LET GOD!

Ministry Update

Capo Athletes in Action Ministry

Last fall we shared Tony Capo’s story in Solomon Circle, which you can read here if you missed it: “Tony’s Story - One Man's Journey from Communist Albania to Campus Ministry.”

We’re excited to share that close to 100 student athletes gathered at his campus launch event at NC State this fall. Meetings are happening weekly at NC State, Shaw, Peace, and Campbell Universities, with additional team meetings in planning.

God is doing a tremendous work through Tony and Tola Capo as they continue to serve God faithfully with Athletes in Action in the greater Triangle area. Please continue to pray for them. If you are interested to learn more and how you can support the ministry, please visit their website:

What Makes You Human? The Biblical Answer AI Cannot Give You

Last week I asked an AI a question I should have taken to God.

It wasn’t scandalous. Just heavy — the kind of thing you carry quietly until the house goes dark and you can’t hold it anymore. The answer came back fast. Careful. Warm, even. Theologically it held up. It cited the right verses.

I closed the laptop still feeling hollow.

Not because it was wrong. It wasn’t. But something about the exchange felt like drinking from a painting of water — the shape of what I needed, none of the substance. I’ve been trying to name that feeling ever since. I think Genesis can.

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”

Genesis 1:27

Before we go anywhere theological, let’s look at where things actually stand.

Around 30% of U.S. adults — and 34% of practicing Christians specifically — now say AI’s spiritual guidance is as trustworthy as a pastor’s, rising to 44% among Millennials. The share who have actually used AI for spiritual matters is more specific: approximately one-third of practicing Christians have turned to AI for biblical guidance or spiritual questions in the last month — not out of curiosity, but out of need. People in your congregation on Sunday, singing the same songs, who asked ChatGPT about their marriage before they asked anyone at the church.

And one in three of those same people say they want their pastor to help them figure out how to navigate this. Only 12% of pastors say they’re ready to try.

Because underneath the statistics, underneath the debates about which model is smarter and which guardrail held — the real question has nothing to do with technology. It is the oldest question a human being can ask.

What exactly am I?
