Reshaping not Breaking

A popular saying amongst Christians is that “God will break you down to build you back up” meaning that He will place you in difficult circumstances so that He can transform your character to be more like Jesus. Let’s analyze this phrase for a moment: the act of breaking something, nevermind someone, is immediately considered a destructive act. Whether done out of anger, an accident, or even a creative idea, breaking always ends in the original object being somewhat destroyed.
Destruction is definitely something that God is capable of and will deliver justly in times to come, but is not how He treats those who love Him. God instead wants to transform us, so rather than seeing it as being broken, consider it reshaping.
Living Like Pottery
If you know anything about pottery, you’d know that when sculpting something, the potter has infinite chances in working and reworking the clay. Once sculpted, if unhappy with the result or it happens to cave in during the process, the potter can simply wedge the clay back to its original elasticity. Clay can even be reclaimed if it dries up simply by rehydrating and wedging it once more. However, once the clay has been “fired” in a kiln, it becomes hardened and can no longer be reclaimed or reshaped.
What does this have to do with transforming our character? Think of it this way: God is the master potter, and we are His clay as we learn from Isaiah 64:8: “Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.”
So long as we remain pliable, God can continuously shape and reshape who we are according to His purpose for us. Even if we “dry out,” God can revitalize us—it will take more transformation to get back to a moldable state, but God is willing and more than able. However, if we harden our hearts towards God, our character will become stubborn, leading to a life of sin and ultimately destruction.
Keeping Our Hearts Soft
So what can we do to keep our hearts soft and our “clay” elastic for God to continuously shape and reshape us? The first step is humility, in knowing that we are all sinners in need of a Savior—being Jesus Christ. When we’ve come to this realization it will encourage us to seek the Lord daily: in His Word, prayer, worship, and community. Not only do we need to acknowledge and seek Him, but we must obey Him as instructed in James 1:22.
The warning and danger of a hardened heart was evident in that of Pharaoh’s stubbornness. Not yielding to God led to death of all Egypt’s firstborn and their defeat at the Red Sea. Yet God, being the all-powerful Creator of the universe, is capable of turning even a heart of stone into a heart of flesh, as we read in Ezekiel 36:26:“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.”
It’s Our Choice
God’s desire is that all of mankind would turn to Him and live, but He also loves us enough to give us the free will to make our own decisions. In Ezekiel 33:11, we read: “As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways!” Though the Lord is addressing the Israelites in this passage, the same decision awaits us.
What will your response be? Will you turn continuously to the Lord and allow Him to reshape you daily, or have you become content with what your clay has hardened into?

Is Space the Next Big Investment Opportunity?

The conversation around space as an economic frontier no longer deserves to be restricted to just SciFi movies; now, those conversations are coming directly from the most powerful offices in the world. In December 2025, President Trump signed an executive order titled "Ensuring American Space Superiority," calling for a return of Americans to the Moon by 2028, a permanent lunar outpost by 2030, and a goal of attracting at least $50 billion in new investment into U.S. space markets by 2028.
A week ago, Trump spoke directly to investors about space as a defining economic opportunity for America's future. That kind of presidential attention signals real policy momentum, not just rhetoric.
On the private side, Elon Musk announced in February 2026 that SpaceX, already the most valuable private company in the world at roughly $800 billion, had shifted its primary focus from Mars to building a self-growing city on the Moon, which he believes can be achieved in less than a decade.
SpaceX is also targeting a historic IPO expected in mid-2026, potentially the largest in history, which would give everyday investors their first direct shot at owning a piece of the world's leading rocket company. Jeff Bezos's Blue Origin is similarly redirecting resources toward a NASA lunar lander, and analysts estimate the global space economy, worth $613 billion in 2024, could reach $1.8 trillion by 2035.
Leaping Ahead
For most individuals, the most accessible entry points right now are publicly traded stocks and ETFs. On the ETF side, the Procure Space ETF (ticker: UFO) holds over 40 global space companies and gained more than 45% in 2025. The ARK Space & Defense Innovation ETF (ARKX) covers launch, satellites, and geospatial technology.
The brand-new Roundhill Space & Technology ETF (MARS), which began trading in March 2026, focuses on the emerging space infrastructure economy. For individual stocks, Rocket Lab (RKLB) is a smaller but revenue-generating launch company that posted $602 million in revenue in 2025 with 38% year-over-year growth. AST SpaceMobile (ASTS) is building a satellite-based cellular network for smartphones. Established defense giants like Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and L3Harris also carry significant space exposure with the stability of government contracts behind them.
“Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one and calls forth each of them by name...”
What Types of Investments Will Lead the Way?
The first wave of viable space investments is expected to come through satellite services; communications, GPS, weather, defense intelligence, and broadband coverage for remote areas. These generate real revenue today. Rocket launch services are speculated to be next, as demand for putting satellites into orbit accelerates.
Further out, but increasingly discussed, are lunar logistics, space-based data centers (SpaceX is already exploring this), and eventually resource extraction from asteroids and the Moon. The SpaceX IPO, when it arrives, may be the single most significant milestone yet, bringing the sector's undisputed leader into public markets for the first time.
A Word of Caution and Faith
Space investing, like any other investment, is speculative. Morgan Stanley estimates the industry could see significant increase by 2040, but the path there will include failures, delays, and volatility.
While it’s an exciting sector filled with unique investment opportunities and missions, every industry brings its own hurdles and unique experiences. That includes timelines to launch from when capital was actually invested. Research and development periods lasting much longer. It’s not just managing numbers, it's managing your emotions, expectations, and most importantly, your focus.
Tech Update
Technology for Lunar Life

As referenced in the article above, there is now a US government commitment to a permanent lunar outpost on the moon with much investment excitement, but what about the technical feasibility? A couple things came to mind that would be critical to living on the moon that I probed into:
The Need to Breath
We take it for granted that except for rare disaster conditions like a wildfire, we can pretty much get all the oxygen we need to breathe and live from the natural air around us. God designed our planet as a perfect habitat for His children to live in. Earth’s air is composed of 21% oxygen in contrast to 0% on the moon which lacks an atmosphere.
Scientists have discovered that the lunar south pole contains frozen ice. Electrolysis is a straightforward process that can convert ice/water to oxygen, but with the moon’s ice at -250°C (-418°F) this would require a lot of energy. NASA is currently experimenting with extracting oxygen from the soil using a complex carbothermal reactor process. So the technology to produce oxygen on the moon is underway.
Lunar Power
In a recent Solomon Circle article we covered space based power generation using satellite based solar arrays and generators. Lockheed Martin is working on a vertical solar array technology as one means for lunar based solar power generation. Their system is based on self-deploying 65 foot solar panel arrays that are designed to withstand the harsh conditions of the moon. This short video is rather encouraging and inspiring to visualize the technology.
Permanent lunar living would require significant power generation. Other scientists are working on the concept of creating solar panels on the moon itself using lunar dust to overcome the weight and transport challenges of sending panels from earth. I believe small module nuclear reactors like we previously discussed in SC could be another option, but even this technology is still just getting off the ground here on earth.
Many more aspects of sustaining life will need to be addressed before I book my hotel on the moon, as GRU is now reserving.
Personally, I’m hoping the rapture comes first so I’ll have a fly by on my way up to heaven :-)
